So how did the first day of sponsored tweeting go? Did I earn any money?
Yes i did – but how much?
I got 2 clicks at $0.02 each. LOL
Well its a start – lets see how it goes on from here. More followers = more paid oppotunities.

Today’s the day that my twitter account is old enough to start using Sponsored tweets to try and make some money using my twitter account.
Whilst Ive been waiting for my account to become 3 months old, I’ve made 133 (mainly automated) tweets and gained 1337 followers using this method

Logging on to Sponsored tweets there are a number of cost per click opportunities where you get paid each time a link is followed from your tweet.
I’ve picked an oppotunity to tweet about a successful money making website.

As explained in this post I’m using this method to gain as many Twitter followers as possible.
Unfortunately due to work commitments I’ve missed a couple of days, but what does that mean, well I currently have 953 followers with still 16 days to reach my target of 1100 followers. I should still easily do this, but I’m going to do a couple of extra following runs to catch up.

In this post I explained that by using this method I was aiming to have over 1100 Twitter Followers by 9th August, which is the date that I can start to make sponsored Tweets.
With 3 weeks to go (21 days) I’m currently at 819 Followers, so I’m well on course. Hopefully by this time next month I’ll be making some money from Twitter.

In this post I discussed a method of increasing the Number of Followers that you have in Twitter.
The One thing to note is that not everyone you follow will follow you back, therefore you will be following a greater number of people then follow you.
Is this important? Yes
Twitter will limit you to following 2000 other users or 110% of the number of followers you have, so it might be a good idea to unfollow those who don’t follow you back, unless of course you enjoy their Tweets.
How do you find out who’s not following you? There’s a great tool called Manage Flitter which will not only show you which of the users you are following aren’t following you back but also provides a tool to unfollow them – with out breaking Twitters T&C’s. You just log into Manage Flitter using your normal Twitter username and password and you are away.

To keep numbers managable I’m going to try and unfollow about 30 unfollowers every day.

As explained in this post I set myself a goal of reaching 500 Twitter Followers by 9th of July using this method. A day later then planned I passed the 500 follower mark.
There are several reasons for increasing my Follower count in Twitter, not only is Twitter a great marketing tool but it’s also possible to use it as a income stream.
My Twitter account becomes old enough to qualify for Sponsored Tweeting on the 9th of August, on average I’m getting 26 new followers every day so by the 9th of August I’m going to target having 1100 followers.

I’ve just returned from a long weekend break, so I thought that it might disrupt my challenge of reaching 500 followers by 9th of July, but my hotel room had Wifi, so by just spending 5 mins each day following this method of increasing Twitter Followers, I’ve picked up an additional 129 new followers whilst a way.
In order to reach my new target I have an additional 98 followers to find in 4 days.

It was this post by famous Internet Blogger John Chow who was paid $1000 dollars for a single Tweet, that first made me aware that it was possible to earn money from Twitter.
By signing up to Sponsored Tweeting you can agree to include Sponsored Tweets into your Tweets. Sponsored Tweets come in two different varieties, Fixed Rate & Cost Per Click.
Fixed Rate is where you are paid a fixed amount for publishing the Tweet and that amount doesn’t change regardless of how many clicks a Tweet gets. Cost Per Click is where you aren’t paid anything for publishing the tweet but are paid a small amount for every click a link in your Tweet receives, so the more followers you have, the more chance you have of getting either a Fixed Rate opportunity or a higher chance of getting clicks on your CPC Tweet
To sign up to Sponsored Tweets you must have a Twitter Account that is older then 60 days, 50 Followers and have made 100 status updates.
My Twitter Account turn 60 days old on August the 9th, I already have more then 50 followers so I’ll just need to make sure that I have made more then 100 status updates by then and then I can monitorize my Twitter Account.
It would be nice to have a larger following by then, on average I’m getting around 27 new followers per day, so hopefully by 9th August I should have over 1000 followers.

In this post I explained how I was going to try and increase my number of Twitter Followers to over 200 by the 30/06/10 using this method.
As the table below shows I reached the goal a day early.

The following Chart shows a nice consistent growth of followers, so my next goal will be 500 followers which is an increase of 287 followers. I’ll set myself 10 days to achieve this.

In this post I described how I am setting targets to reach challenging goals.
My original goal was to reach 100 Twitter followers before 29th of June, I’ve reached this target 3 days early as shown in the table below.

So it’s time to set another target, this time to increase my followers to 200 an increase of 75. I’m going to aim to complete this target by 30/06/10, that’s 4 days time. I’m going to try and gain 25 extra followers a day, to achieve this I’m going to aim to follow 50 users a day.
